Just some general thoughts after the first online race last night at GBR with the Corvette C6 race car.

Overall very positive and considering this is still a beta in development with fixes and improvements forth coming this will be thee "Sim" with no looking back at RF1. Just like in our early days of TOCA going from 2 to 3 once we got settled in TOCA 2 seemed really old but still fun.

Setup changes do seem to make a difference and there seems to be a more realistic result of the changes good or bad. Another words I don't see some sim only unrealistic setup trick is going to be secret magic fast.

The track rubbering in with increasing grip level as the race goes on is really very cool, getting off race line the grip level then becomes very treacherous to get the car back under you so passing opportunities have to be carefully thought out.

Along those same lines last night they had cloud cover come and go. This changed the grip level along with the overall lighting and look of the track. Changable and dynamic weather is going to add another whole dimension to sim racing in RF.

The tire models while still being worked on are the most realistic I have felt, you can overdrive the car a bit but still get it back. If you get you tire temps back down the grip comes back, Tire temps will vary from corner to corner and position on the car, it's not just a "Your tires are hot now" so everything is gone deal.

It looks like for the most part admining a race follows what was done in RF1.

Setting up button mappings I think makes more sense now with things grouped in to categories.

Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car. Oversteer is when you hit the wall with the back of the car. Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall.
BUT Torque is how far you take the wall with you!!
