It's in the books the first rF2 race for TUM. TUM had lead the practice nights and race night practice at GBR. In qualifying TUM took the top 3 spots with Jammer pulling one out of his.....well you know where doing an astonding 1;23.0XX and Rich close behind with a 1:23.1XX a mear .020 behind. KJ not close to his PB with a 1:23.8XX took the third spot on the grid. Fourth on back was in the 1:24's on down.

GBR had 10 for the race but only 9 took the grid for the 20 lap race with no mandatory pit stops. After 5 restarts for various reasons (Crash's) the field finally compleated a couple of laps without major incidents. Jammer had an issue loosing control on the first lap causing him to have to fight his way back up through the field and that he did marching his way all the way back up to 3rd with in a few laps. Mean while upfront Rich and KJ were having a nose to tail chase lap after lap pulling out 7.5 sec on the rest.

It was decided by all seeing as how this was a test race to bunch up the spread out field by having a rolling compitition yellow at lap 10, actually took 2 laps to get everyone around to the leaders doing 50mph under yellow. With the tail ender calling out 3,2,1 ,GO! TUM style. :D

Now with Jammer close he really made an effort to capitalize on the restart but it didn't pan out for him. Rich and KJ again pulled a slight gap with KJ dogging Rich he finally got an opening and took it. This put Rich and Jammer together where they battled for awhile giving KJ clean open racing to pull an ever increasing gap to 11.9 sec at the end. Rich had some issues and spun on the last lap dropping him to 6th. Jammer and Boza had a a great back and forth tussle going in the last couple of laps with Bozza getting the better end of the deal. Shawn was in the mix for awhile but spun out big and dsiorintating him as to where he was on the track, going backwards he got DQ'd out of the race.

Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car. Oversteer is when you hit the wall with the back of the car. Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall.
BUT Torque is how far you take the wall with you!!

Nice write-up. Glad it worked out well. How was rF2 in race conditions? FPS hog at the start? I doubt if I'd get more than 20-30 fps with mine which means an upgrade when rF2 goes gold. Also, I understand why Rich dropped out right after race 1 at efnet. :D

That was a fun race until I started getting sloppy. The fps were pretty low in a big pack but got better once we got spread out a little. Congrats to KJ on the win. I am looking forward to some more of those races.

Thanks Mike. Even with my good race PC I'm seeing 35 to 60 FPS and was about the same in race. When ever I was on track and even more so around others the video is not smooth very slightly choppy or stuttery but I can still race. Now keep in mind I have most stuff turned up, I'm not going to turn everything down to look like a Nintindo Game Boy just to smooth it out. This way I can tell if newer build versions are improving the graphics/FPS for me

Way to go KJ - congrats on your win :winner:

All in all I'm really starting to like it the feel. The vette's are still beasts though. I found myself on the brake and gas at the same time. Probably explains why I had 342 for an inside tire temp. Great fight with Boza on teh last 3 laps. He passed me, I passed him, side by sides in the turns... just cooked the tires on the last lap - he executed a perfect over under. Hats off fellow GBR racer.

These guys are a great bunch to race against.

Oh yeah, BTW - as expected I ran 65 to 85 frames (triple monitors) and had no issues. but then again, I have a 6 core, 16 megs ram and an ati 7850 with 2 megs - it better be no problem. I'd suggest you guys list your specs as to what is working and what isn't so we can establish some baselines. :D

Looking forward to more rF 2 - Grip level changed as the track RUBBERED in and the clouds came and went :D
